This site is a private, non-commercial family-history archive run by members of the Bauche family. This page explains what information the site and its photo gallery handle, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Reading the site
The site has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Our hosting company keeps ordinary server logs (your IP address, the page requested and the time) for security and to keep the site running. Your browser may remember your language and light or dark choice on your own device; that never leaves it.
Requesting gallery access
If you ask to upload family photos or videos, the form collects your first name, last name, e-mail address, the Bauche ancestor you descend from, and an optional note. We use it only to decide on your request, to reply to you, and to send you a private upload link if approved. It is stored on the server outside the public web folder and sent by e-mail to the site administrator. It is never published and never sold.
Files you upload
Uploaded photos and videos, with their file names and your first name, wait briefly on the server and are then copied into your family’s folder in the family’s Google Drive. Nothing you upload is public unless the site administrator chooses to add it to this website. Please do not upload anything you would not want the family archive to hold.
Google Drive and Google user data
The gallery connects to Google Drive through Google’s OAuth sign-in, using the narrow “drive.file” permission, owned by the site administrator’s Google account. The connection can only create the gallery folders and store the files that visitors upload; it cannot see, read, change or delete any other file in that Drive. Visitors never sign in to Google and no Google account data of visitors is accessed. The site’s use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not use this data for advertising, sell it, or let people read it except as needed to run the gallery or to follow the law.
Who else handles the information
Our web hosting provider (Interserver), our e-mail service and Google Drive process data on our behalf, only to run the site and gallery. We do not sell or share your information for marketing.
Living people
The public pages name only people the records show as deceased or born long ago. Recent photographs of living people are kept in a private family edition. If someone should be hidden, corrected or added, write to us and we will act promptly.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep request details and the upload permission for as long as your family’s gallery folder is open. You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold, correct it, close your upload link, or delete your details and your uploaded files.
